From Illinois prairies to Texas grasslands, the future of grassland birds depends on a conservation network that stretches far beyond any one backyard, state, or organization.
The Geography of Grassland Bird Conservation explores how conservation organizations, large partnerships like Partners in Flight and Migratory Bird Joint Ventures, and
individuals including landowners and private-lands biologists connect the dots—turning continental bird priorities, science, and partnerships into action on the ground. Along the
way, we’ll see how what happens on a Texas ranch can matter to birds passing through an Illinois prairie, and where local birders and bird groups fit into this surprisingly interconnected
conservation system.

Jim Giocomo, the Central Region Director for the American Bird Conservancy, is based in Durand IL, and will take us on this journey.
