FIELD TRIP TO LOST MOUND UNIT

Saturday, October 25th

Carpool from Harbor Freight parking lot at 8:00 a.m. Return time estimated at 3:15 p.m.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

We will get a guided tour of the Lost Mound Unit of the Upper Mississippi National Wildlife Refuge provided by Stewards of the UMNWR. There will be several stops during the tour to look for both resident and migratory birds, and to observe the interesting natural features of this area, formerly known as the Savanna Army Depot. Bring your binoculars and camera. It is important to note that there is a minimum of eight and a maximum of fourteen for the tour, so registration is mandatory. Anyone who signs up and wishes to meet us there should be at the Lost Mound Unit parking, 3159 Crim Dr Savanna, Illinois 61074, lot by 9:15 a.m. We will plan on going to nearby Mississippi Palisades State Park for lunch after the tour, so bring a sack lunch and beverage.
