To honor the conservation efforts of the late Dr. Jane Goodall, our Conservation Committee is offering an opportunity to discuss Dr. Goodall’s most recent book,The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times. Hope is needed more now than ever as the world continues to face a changing climate with the effects of that felt through droughts, longer and hotter summers, and catastrophic flooding. Hope is not a solution to climate change but without hope we cannot see the things we can do to slow climate change.
Dr. Jane Goodall died on October 1st at the age of 91 having shared most of her adult life with the public, traveling up to 300 days per year up until the time of her death. Jane was trained as an ethologist, someone who compares and analyzes the characteristics of different people and their relationships. Early in her life she was well known for her work with the chimpanzees in Africa.
